What on earth do you do when you just cannot find jewellery you want to wear? You design and make it yourself, many jewellers start off this way and I am no exception.
I designed my first pair of ear-rings in 1970 and had them made by a local jeweller but it was not until 1982 I started designing costume jewellery, this business blossomed into manufacturing, wholesaling, exhibiting and eventually retailing.
I gained a new set of invaluable skills whilst studying craft at college which has helped me expand my knowledge base. Understanding traditional enamelling techniques has enabled me to research and develop a new form of applying glass to metal, giving a new perspective to an ancient tradition.
I now produce two new collections of designs a year, spring/summer and autumn/winter, usually using the new seasons colours where possible. Seashells the summer collection is almost finished and will be in my stockists from March 2010 |
